Every year the Folly Theater hosts a jazz performance series at their historic downtown venue. Their primary goal is to attract younger audiences and keep Kansas City’s rich jazz history alive. Through the use of shape, pattern, and color, this series develops a non-traditional musical notation system which uses form, rather than notes, to symbolize sound. Each poster highlights unique characteristics from each artist while maintaining visual harmony.
